The Strawberries compete mainly in the local PAUSATF XC, road, and track series, although you can find our members competing all over the world. In the first few years since we formed in 2009, we've achieved some happy results, including XC Grand Prix titles in 2011 and 2013 (tied with West Valley), and the 2011 PAUSATF Club of the Year award.
For those in the Bay Area, the club conducts most of its training around the UC Berkeley campus. See our calendar for details, but roughly:
Workouts: Mondays and Thursdays at 5:30 PM at the Edwards Track. We typically do intervals on Mondays, and tempo runs either on the track or on the trails in Strawberry Canyon. Workouts begin at 6:00 PM.
Long runs: Saturdays at 8:30 AM. We meet at the Class of 1914 Fountain in front of Cafe Strada on campus. Our favorite locations are the East Bay parks (Tilden, Redwood, and Chabot), but sometime we venture as far as Mt. Tamalpais and Nisene Marks. Ask to join the club email list for weekly details!
Easy runs: organized informally through the club email lists.
For more information, you can check out our schedule. We're also friends with the Cal Running Club.
